  • Profile. Your photos, name, age, and what you are looking for.
  • Content. Your messages and anything else you post.
  • Purchases. Records of memberships and Extras you buy, billed by Apple or Google.
  • Reports. What you tell us when you report someone, and what others tell us about you.

  • Location. Your location while the app is open. See Section 4.

2

How We Use It

  • Run your account and profile.
  • Show you people nearby and show you to them.
  • Run invitations, plans, and messaging.
  • Process your purchases.
  • Verify identity, stop fraud and abuse, and keep banned users out.
  • Answer your questions and act on reports.
  • Fix bugs and improve the app.
  • Comply with the law.

3

Face Verification

To confirm you are a real person and match your photos, we take a short live face scan and compare it to your profile pictures. This uses Amazon Rekognition. We keep a reference image and the comparison scores.

This is biometric information. We use it only to verify identity and stop impersonation. We never sell, trade or profit from it, and we share it with no one except the provider that runs the comparison.

Consent. We ask for your written consent on a separate screen before the first scan. You can decline.

Deletion. We destroy it after 3 years, or when you delete your account, whichever comes first. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to privacy@ymedate.com, and we destroy it then.

Part of this processing runs on Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt, Germany.

4

Location

We collect your location only while the app is open. We use it to rank people by distance and draw the map. We never collect it in the background.

We store one point, your most recent. Each update replaces the last. We keep no history and no movement trail.

Other members see distance, never your position.

We send coordinates to Google to turn them into place names and draw maps.

5

Who We Share With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with these companies, each bound by a written agreement not to use it for their own purposes:

6

Yme shows no ads and uses no ad software. We do not track you across other apps, and we do not sell or share your personal information under the CCPA or any similar law. There is no “Do Not Sell” control because there is nothing to opt out of.

9

You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, send it to you in a portable format, or stop certain uses. You can withdraw consent for face verification or location at any time. We will never treat you worse for asking.

Write to privacy@ymedate.com. We may verify your identity first, and you can use an authorised agent. If we say no, we will tell you why, and you can appeal by replying.

10

State Rights

Illinois. The Biometric Information Privacy Act applies to Section 3. We tell you in writing that we are collecting biometric information, why, and for how long, and we get your written release first. Our retention and destruction schedule is in Section 3 and is published here. We destroy your biometric information when its purpose is met or within three years of your last use of Yme, whichever is first. We never sell, lease, trade or profit from it, and we disclose it only with your consent or where the law compels us.

Texas and Washington. We collect biometric identifiers only as described in Section 3, with your consent, and destroy them within one year of the purpose ending.

California. You have the rights in Section 9 under the CCPA and CPRA, and we do not discriminate against you for using them. We collect two kinds of sensitive personal information, precise location and biometric information, and use both only to run the Service and keep members safe. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is no opt-out to offer.

Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states. You have the rights in Section 9, including the right to appeal. We do not sell your data, do not use it for targeted advertising, and do not profile you. We get your consent before processing sensitive data.

If your state gives you a right we have not listed, it still applies and we will honour it.

11

Deleting Your Account

Delete your account any time in the app. We close it immediately: you are signed out, you cannot sign back in, and your profile disappears. It is not a pause.

We then delete your photos, messages, profile, location point, and face verification data within 30 days. Backups clear within 90 days. We keep the records listed in Section 7.

Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Cancel that separately.

12

Children

Yme is for adults. You must be 18 or older. Report an underage member in the app and we will remove the account.

13

Where Your Data Is Processed

Yme operates in the United States and processes your information here, except for the face-verification processing in Frankfurt described in Section 3. Some providers process information in other countries.

14

Changes

If we make a material change we will tell you before it takes effect, and ask your consent where the law requires it. The date at the top shows when this Policy last changed.
